I hate getting 89%'s
It seems unfair to me that 79.5% and 89.4% in a class should both be deserving of the same letter weight.Should school transcripts show only letter grades or should they include percentages?
Percentages are a better indicator of how well someone did in a class...Letter weights are different depending on the education system, some will consider 85% to be an A, some will consider 95% to be an A. Sometimes a B in one school can be a D in another one, it really all depends on the school board. Percentage grades are more objective, if you got 89% in a course, you got 89% of the material right. Letter grades cover more of a range and are often subjective, and it isn't really fair to the students who are at the higher end of the range to be put in the same category as a student in the lower range. It also makes students in the lower range seem better than they really are.Should school transcripts show only letter grades or should they include percentages?
they should be like that but I like how it is now because I always get 92's in 5 classes!
Some schools do use the +/- system for grades and that essentially takes care of the problem.
I think it should go by percentages personally, but that will probably never change.
