Can I get transcripts for a crown court case? ?

Is it possible to get a transcript of a crown/magistrates court case? I am after a recent case that happened in the last month or so.Can I get transcripts for a crown court case? ?
Im a law student, and have access to the higher court transcripts - i think you could find it extremely difficult to get a transcript of a crown/magistrates court case - they are rarely reported as they are not as important. It would stay within the court im guessing - and im not sure you'd be allowed to get that information! Can I get transcripts for a crown court case? ?
There are no transcripts of magistrates' courts cases and the nearest thing is a copy of the notes taken by the clerk of the court, which are only made available where there is a really pressing reason to produce them.

Transcripts of Crown Court cases can be ordered, but they are extremely expensive, as they involve the typing out of the shorthand notes taken during a trial which may have taken weeks. That would involve many days of work! I think that for practical purposes you should abandon that idea. Even government departments such as the Criminal Appeals Office will only order transcripts very sparingly where a High Court judge feels that the expense is justified.
