Why do students need transcripts for college and university?

tell me the reasonWhy do students need transcripts for college and university?
You grades reflect the effort and or intelligence in school. If you can't cut it in high school most college is much harder. That is what community college is for to help you get ready for college if you did not do well in high schoolWhy do students need transcripts for college and university?
They need to be able to document work which has been done in the past. Partly this is so a student doesn't take the same course twice. Admissions decisions are partly based on transcripts: if a school has one spot open and 10 applicants, the admissions committees want to estimate which student will make the best use of the spot.
Because the college or university wants to know a little bit about the student before they accept them. Transcripts include grades as well. Colleges need to make sure that you are ';good'; enough of a student to be accepted.
