I have hold on my transcripts because of loans. I cant pay them right. I need them for work purposes.?

I cant pay the loans right now. But i need the transcripts for work purposes. The Police Department wants them. I was told by a friend that they have to release them for work purposes is that right?I have hold on my transcripts because of loans. I cant pay them right. I need them for work purposes.?
No, CC:

This is exactly WHY schools use transcript holds. They know you'll need and want your transcript for job purposes, school purposes, or who knows what else, which is why a transcript hold is an effective enticement for you to pay your debt.

The use of a hold is entirely legal, and there is no special exemption that applies if your particular need is employment-related.

If you want your transcript, you'll need to pay for the courses - otherwise the grades that you earned won't count.

This question is not that much different than ';My car loan company says they're going to repossess my vehicle, because I haven't paid, but I need my car for work. Isn't there a special rule that I can keep my car if I need it for work?';

The answer, of course, is ';no';, as it is here, as well.

Contact your school and negotiate a payment plan. If you start making payments under the plan, the school can probably be persuaded to release your transcripts.

Good luck.
